Scope of Works
- Earthworks: Completed bulk cut-to-fill operations to achieve the required civil design levels, including preparation of the subgrade for subsequent construction activities
- Pavement Construction: Constructed a new pavement to expand the ammonium nitrate storage area. Works included placement of recycled road base (sub-base), MRWA base course, chip seal, and asphalt in accordance to design requirements
- Fire Main Installation: Installed and commissioned a new HDPE fire-water piping system and fire hydrants, including connection into the existing active water system
- Drainage: Constructed a swale drain lined with BGM liner and extended existing sump to tie into existing drainage system.
- Site Infrastructure: Installed new security fencing and gate, apron lighting, and completed line-marking to the newly constructed pad
Project Features
- Achieved a cut-to-fill balance using on-site materials, removing the requirement for imported fill and optimising site resources.
- Implemented recycled materials for the sub-base layer, reducing environmental impact while delivering measurable cost savings for the client.
- Successfully delivered works within a live, operational major hazard facility storing ammonium nitrate, maintaining safety and uninterrupted operations.
- Completed all works to specification and achieved all milestones within a tight construction timeframe.
- Successfully connected and integrated all required services, including fire water and lighting into the existing network to support the expanded storage pad.
